Teaching

With a background in K-12 education as an elementary school teacher in Seoul, South Korea, I have been deeply committed to fulfilling the true meaning of the Latin root of “education” — to draw out and bring forth the best in each person. I strive to serve the unique interests of every individual, which is reflected in how I design my courses and mentor my students. For master’s students, I focus on creating opportunities to help them build their portfolios, preparing them to transition into new careers — often their primary motivation for pursuing the degree. For undergraduate research assistants, I take time to understand their career goals and tailor research tasks to align with those aspirations. In my next position, I will continue to uphold this core philosophy of pursuing the true purpose of education, and I am confident that, with the enhanced resources and support available beyond my time as a Ph.D. student, I will be able to make an even greater impact.
